Family members of Aaron Hernandez have asked a judge to order MA prison officials to preserve evidence so they can investigate the circumstances of his death.
Baez said the family made arrangements for the Boston University CTE Unit to take possession of the brain, and the medical examiner's office agreed to those plans.

Baez said officials from the chief medical examiner's office told him they wanted to prepare the brain for study. He said that the next step is "part of the investigation" and that they are "leaving no stone unturned". "The family and legal team is shocked and surprised at the news of Aaron's death", Baez said in a statement. Sources told WCVB that water and shampoo were also found on the cell's floor.
