Bus carrying 26 kids on DC field trip overturns on I-95

A charter bus full of eighth-graders from Pennsylvania was heading to Washington, D.C., on a field trip when a auto tried to pass the bus and clipped it, causing it to overturn, Maryland State Police said Monday afternoon. Twenty-six Philadelphia area schoolchildren were injured, officials said.

Most of the injuries were cuts, bruises and scrapes, with some possible broken bones, medics said.

Havre de Grace is about 40 miles northeast of Baltimore, along the Susquehanna River. Five students and one teacher remained hospitalized.
