Noted Malayalam director I.V. Sasi (69) is no more. Sasi started his career as an art director and after his first couple of films as director went uncredited, he finally debuted officially with Utsavam in 1975, at the age of 27.
The popular Malayalam film director, who made blockbusters like "Aaroodam" and "Ee Naadu", which were loved for their social and political commentary, was suffering from cancer.
He had not directed any straight Telugu movie.
Joel Embiid sounds off about minutes restriction to open season
I don't know, I wish I was playing more but we're going to see how that goes". "I got a voice", Embiid told Philly.com on Monday. Regardless of how long he plays out of the gate, just having him on the floor gives the Sixers the chance to win games.
He also helmed several critically acclaimed films like Alkoottathil Thaniye, Kanamarayathu, Aksharangal andVadakaykkoru Hrudayam. He also played a pivotal role in catapulting actors like Mammootty and Mohanlal to the status of iconic superstars that they are known today.
For renowned filmmaker IV Sasi, cinema was his first love and he lived for it till he breathed his last on October 24. On the other hand, he also gave Mohanlal the popularity with films like Ineyegillum and Devaasuram. The MD of Aries Group said he discussed about the film with Sasi even two days before the latter's death.
He has over 150 films to his credit and won the National award for his film Aroodam in 1982. It is not just in Malayalam cinema that IV Sasi made a mark. Other factors like (music director) Shyam's background scores and brilliant writers like T Damodaran and MT Vasudevan Nair can not be discounted but it would be eye-opening for a movie connoisseur to compare the films MT wrote for Sasi and Hariharan (a legend in his own right and a contemporary of Sasi) respectively to see how differently they eventually turned out. But Sohan Roy, who will be bankrolling the big budget project, has confirmed that the filmmaker's dream project will not be left behind.

In a career spanning close to four decades in which he also helmed some Tamil and Hindi projects, Sasi directed almost 150 films.
