14 drown as boat capsizes in Krishna river

At least 14 people died after a boat capsized in a river in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, a police officer said.
Ferry staff stated that it was the first time that the boat belonging to a two-month old company called "River Boating" was coming to the area from Bhavani Island and the driver did not know about the silt existing in that part of the river. According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred when all the tourists got together on one side, causing the boat to tilt.
National Disaster Response Force personnel were pressed into service to launch rescue operations, but these were hampered with the sunset.
