CHP To Increase Patrol For Thanksgiving Weekend

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced that it will take part in the annual "Interstate 40 Challenge: The Drive to Zero Fatalities" for the Thanksgiving holiday period.
The leaders coming together to ask motorists to drive safely and to make sure they are protected in the event they are in a crash by wearing their seatbelts.
But that's nothing compared to what's expected starting Wednesday when the Thanksgiving travel period begins. Both the Council Bluffs Police and the safety bureau urge drivers to wear seat belts not just for Thanksgiving, but each day.

In addition to distracted driving, troopers report that some of the primary violations they see during this time of year are failure to buckle up, speeding and impaired driving, according to the release. During the MEP, CHP officers will educate motorists and enforce traffic safety laws throughout the state to ensure everyone has a safe holiday.
