Delhi plastic factory fire: Death toll rises to 10

At least 10 women and seven men were charred to death in a fire that broke out in a firecracker unit in outer Delhi's Bawana industrial area on Saturday evening, firefighters said.

Ten fire tenders are at the spot battling the blaze. According to a Delhi fire department officials, the fire started from a firecracker factory which has a rubber factory atop it on the second storey.

"The fire was of Category Four, which means it was not big. The situation is under control now".

Entire local BJP Unit led by district president Neel Daman Khatri and North Delhi Mayor Preety Agarwal were working to ensure relief for victims, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor had earlier said.

AAP chief Kejriwal, who visited the site late tonight, said the truth will come out only after the inquiry, which has been ordered by the government.

Delhi industries minister Satyendar Jain has ordered an enquiry into the case.
