Four cops martyred in IED blast

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Munir Khan said four policemen were killed in the explosion.

Four police officers were killed and two others injured on Saturday in a massive improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore, according to reports. It killed an assistant sub-inspector and three constables, damaged six shops and left a huge crater.

He said that immediately after the blast an intensive search operation was launched and the area was cordoned off by the security forces. The policemen were from the 3rd Battalion of Indian Reserve Police.
