The Surge 2 Announced and Will Release in 2019

New info for The Surge 2 will drop later this week, so keep your eyes peeled.

The Surge 2 will maintain all of the series' core combat systems from the original game, namely the limb-cutting system, but will look to expand upon the game's offerings in different ways. Focus Interactive and developer Deck 13 have announced a renewal of their partnership, as well as a target release date for the upcoming sequel. Read it all below.

The Surge 2, a follow-up to 2017's Dark Souls-inspired action-RPG, is now in development for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, Focus Home Entertainment has announced.

Trump considers nationalising 5G network
The news outlet said some "sensitive documents" it had seen suggest that the federal takeover could help guard against China. Another option includes having a 5G network built by a consortium of wireless carriers, the US official said.

The action RPG takes place in a dystopian future where humans have already consumed much of the world's resources, leading to widespread shortages and environmental issues. A more brutal combat is waiting for us with the expanded limb targeting system.

As well as new weapons to help players battle their way through the unfamiliar environments, we can also expect more abilities, implants, and drones, along with deeper character progression.

More information about The Surge 2 will be unveiled at Le What's Next de Focus - February 7-8, the yearly press event organized by the French publisher in Paris.

It debuted in May 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while it made a brief blip on the radar, the community was largely quiet about it throughout the rest of the year.
