Malcolm Butler: Patriots Never Gave Reason For Benching

Malcolm Butler has all sorts of cause to be peeved with Bill Belichick.

Butler never got an explanation for the benching and hasn't spoken with Bill Belichick since the Patriots departed Minnesota.

"It didn't work out right", Butler continued. In an interview with the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe published Wednesday, Butler absolved Belichick of his error.

"I wasn't feeling too well", Butler said, as transcribed by WEEI.

"I got several calls from Tom Brady before the Titans contract". I went to the hospital. It could have been anything. It didn't work out right (against the Eagles).

Waymo launching self-driving truck pilot in Atlanta
Autonomous-vehicle technology has been touted as having potential to save fuel, ease congestion, and make transportation safer. Just as Uber is ramping up its autonomous-truck development program, Waymo is launching a self-driving truck pilot of its own.

At the start of his introductory press conference, Butler did his best to explain the circumstances surrounding Super Bowl LII, when he didn't play a defensive snap while with the Patriots.

"I wouldn't say (they're trying to replicate New England here)", Lewis said Thursday. "Life just goes on".

Butler's tenure in New England ended on a sour note, but he is not holding any grudges. "From the custodians to Belichick, all the way to Mr. Kraft, I love those guys, my teammates".

The New England Patriots apparently lost out on outside linebacker Trent Murphy. "Just the way I grew up, the way my parents pushed me, never really being looked up to".

Undrafted out of West Alabama, Butler rose to prominence during Super Bowl XLIX when he famously picked off Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson at the goal line in the game's dying seconds to preserve a 28-24 triumph for the Pats.

Shoes on Capitol lawn honor kids killed in shootings since Sandy Hook
The Parkland shooting was the deadliest school shooting since 26 were killed in 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT . When extrapolated to the five-year, three-month period the empty shoes protest encompasses, the number is closer to 7,460.

Butler endured a brutal indignity in front of more than a hundred million viewers, then publicly forgave the guy who wronged him.

It's highly likely that Malcolm Butler will serve as the Titans number one corner. "Even when you're not ready to move on, you've got to move on, so I just kept moving on".

"I'll always have love for New England", Butler said. He was really concerned, and he just wanted to know what was going on or whatever. But they've communicated plenty of times over the last month. But of course maybe he did follow up and Butler skirted around the question. Over the past two years, Butler continued to prove that his Super Bowl XLIX heroics were no fluke. So they're obviously looking for some cornerback help opposite Darius Slay, and may be looking at many others. Ryan wrote on Twitter earlier Tuesday that he was trying to recruit Butler to Tennessee.

Well of course as time passes I am sure more and more will come out about this story. The Bills may feel they stole one from the Patriots, but they may have done them a favor...as usual.
