Nate Solder to sign with the New York Giants

Granted, New England may prefer to protect Tom Brady's blind side with a more proven player since there's no telling how much longer Brady will continue playing at such a consistently high level. They are expected to sign the former New England Patriots left tackle, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Solder was in a tier by himself as the No. 1 free agent tackle.

Solder will receive a four-year, $60 million contract with a guarantee of about $35 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's worth noting that $34.9 Million of it happens to be guaranteed.

The rewards program also drew ire in more public social-media forms, with some taking to Twitter to question the logic behind it. A United spokesperson did not say how many people complained about the change, but it was a "significant enough number".

The Patriots are now operating with approximately $21 million in cap space. New England wasn't ever going to go that high, but could it have offered something like four years and $50 million? They took Antonio Garcia in the 3rd round last years. Time, he hasn't felt appreciated or had much fun the past few seasons. Two weeks later, the cut had healed sufficiently to allow him to play - and pass for over 500 yards - in the Patriots' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a deal keeping right guard Josh Kline off the free agent market. You'd think the Patriots want to do everything possible to position themselves for a Super Bowl in 2018. With the legal tampering underway, I'd certainly expect Solder be connected to a numerous amount of teams, including the Texans.

The Capitol One Arena in Washington was more than two-thirds empty for the second round of the Atlantic 10 tournament. Jarrell Brantley, a 6-7 forward, averages 17 points per game, but he's a complementary piece to the guard tandem.

This is a good get, as the 29-year old will be a huge upgrade over Flowers. In other words, the Pats are now without their starting left tackle, leading rusher/kickoff returner, starting cornerback and slot receiver/punt returner. The 10-time Pro Bowler announced his decision Wednesday after spending several months contemplating whether to come back following a season-ending injury. The 38-year-old Peppers, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, will be entering his 17th National Football League season, including his 10th with the Panthers.
