Pokemon Go Players Can Search for Mew in New Research Quests

In a recent blog post, the Pokemon Go developer revealed that over the next week it'll be bringing mythical Pokemon Mew into the game alongside a new research-based quest system.

Beginning March 30, players will be able to take on two different types of "research" quests: Field Research and Special Research. Field Research tasks can be collected by spinning nearby Poketops, and they include a wide range of Pokemon-related activities. Each task has an objective like discovering and catching specific types of Pokemon or participating in gym battles.Completing a task will earn players rewards ranging from Potions to Rare Candies to Charged TMs.

Completing research quests will reward players with various items.

Though not explicitly detailed, it's likely that Mew will be encountered through earning Stamps, which are awarded to those who complete at least one Field Research task per day. Willow as he searches for the mysterious Pokémon Mew, the game's first Mythical Pokemon. Niantic says there's no cap on the amount of research players can do each day, so hardcore players can keep on researching for as long as they like. Collecting seven stamps will lead to a Research Breakthrough, which will unlock even more rewards, including a possible encounter with a Legendary Pokemon.

This is a huge addition for Pokemon Go and potentially solves numerous issues that players have complained about for months.
