Though Prince was not and is not part of the Trump team, people familiar with the Seychelles meeting told reporters that he presented himself as an unofficial Trump envoy to people setting up the meeting.
Nader began cooperating with Mueller after he arrived at Dulles Airport in mid-January and was stopped, served with a subpoena and questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, these people said.
During an interview with the House Intelligence Committee last November, Prince confirmed that he met with Dmitriev in the Seychelles and that the two discussed U.S. -Russia relations, including trade.
Prince could not be reached for comment.
The Washington Post said Nader started cooperating with Mueller's investigation as a witness in January.

And he's told lawmakers on the House Intelligence Committee that he didn't plan to meet Dmitriev in the Seychelles - and that he went there as a private businessman and not as an emissary of the Trump transition team, the Post reported. "I remember telling him that if Franklin Roosevelt could work with Josef Stalin to defeat Nazi fascism, then certainly Donald Trump could work with Vladimir Putin to defeat Islamic fascism". But the Washington Post reports that the meeting appears to have been arranged in advance as a way to set up a "back channel" between the Trump White House and the Kremlin.
Prince was never officially part of Trump's transition, but frequently communicated with its members and served as an unofficial representative for it, according to investigators.
On Thursday, the panel was holding a second interview with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who had declined to answer certain questions, saying he needed more time.

Prince, who founded the private security company Blackwater, arrived in the Seychelles in order to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed and other Emirati officials, according to The Times, although it is unclear what the meeting was about.
Based on information it has gathered, Mueller's office claimed that the meeting between Prince and Dmitriev had in fact been premeditated, and was meant to coordinate an eventual meeting between a representative of Trump's transition team and a Russian Federation emissary.
Prince had no formal role with the Trump campaign or transition.
Prince says the only political conversation was superficial, Dmitriev brought up his wishes that America and Russian Federation could have a better relationship, to which Prince said he agreed, and, "if Stalin and Roosevelt could come together to defeat Nazi fascism then Putin and Trump could come together to defeat Islamic fascism".
