Over 50 Asylum Seekers ALLOWED into USA — CARAVAN' CRISIS

Dozens more Central American caravan migrants were let into the United States to begin pleading their case for asylum on Thursday despite sharp criticism from US President Donald Trump, bringing the total to 158 since last weekend.

The migrants were part of a group of around 1,000 people who set out from Mexico's southern border on March 25, before reaching the northern border town of Tijuana on Sunday. Numerous caravan participants are migrants fleeing violence in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

The caravan is a tradition dating back to 2010 and is created to draw attention to the plight of destitute Central Americans crossing through Mexico in a bid to reach the USA and the promise of a better life.

The caravan captured the world's attention as scores of migrants travelled through Mexico on a journey to escape their violent homelands.
