Space X launched Bangladeshi Satellite into Orbit

SpaceX's updated version of Falcon 9 rocket "Block 5" lifted off in Florida on Friday, boosting Bangladesh's first communications satellite into orbit.

A Bangladesh delegation, led by Prime Minister's ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy witnessed the moment of launching the satellite.

Falcon 9, the finest rocket of American firm SpaceX, started to carry the satellite to the orbit from the Cape Canaveral launching pad at 4:14 pm United States local time.

Recalling with deep gratitude Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and three million martyrs and 2 lakh women who lost their dignity during the Liberation War, she said, "With the launching of Bangabandhu-1, we're moving forward by another step in materialising the dream of the Father of the Nation".

Thousands of people across the world witnessed the launch with the live telecast of several TV channels and SpaceX's webcast.

Today's launch came after an abort on Thursday, which occurred at the T -1 minute mark due to a ground systems auto abort caused by a ground relay that had failed to reset after a system test. The company also arranged for the spacecraft's launch on the Falcon 9. The first is the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP), and the second phase is Satellite in Orbit.

The LEOP phase will take 10 days while the second one will take 20 days. It would mostly cover South Asian countries and Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkestan and a part of Kazakhstan. "With launching of Bangabandhu Satellite-1, we are hoisting our national flag in the space".

The "Block 5" booster, the final substantial upgrade to SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch vehicle, was launched at 4.14 p.m. from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre, starting its maiden flight, Xinhua reported.

Bangabandhu-1 could save the foreign currency and its unused capacity could also be rented to other nations.
